Obituary for Angeline "Angel" Teresa MacKay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angeline Teresa MacKay of Nashwaak Bridge N.B. on January 21st 2023 after an almost 9 year battle with cancer. She was at home surrounded by love and family. Angel was born in Fredericton on January 24th 1961. She was the second daughter to her parents Annette (Cormier) Astle and late Terry Astle.

Aside from her mother Angel is also survived by her children Jaime MacKay (Dale Thomas), Julie MacKay, Jessica Brown (Alex Brown) and Josh MacKay (Alison Bartlett) and their father Steven MacKay. She was Nanny to her most favourite people in the world. Cole Thomas (Emma Giberson), AJ Thomas, Karsyn Brown, Brynn MacIntosh, Emerson MacIntosh and Karlyn Brown. She loved them more than life itself and we believe they were her reason for fighting for 9 long years.

She had the best siblings you could ask for who have been there helping every step of the way, Sonia Barrett (Kevin), Michele Munn (Donnie), Tracey Crain (Alden), Arlene Parker (Edward), Tea Astle (Heather) and special in laws Sylvia and Timmy MacKay. Angel is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in laws, family and friends. She was predeceased by her Dad Terry Astle, Mother and Father in law Olin and Agnes MacKay and her Mother's spouse Rheo LeBlanc.

Angel had many jobs over the years, with Winners clothing store being the most recent. She worked there for over 10 years and loved all of the friends she made there in that time. Her favourite job though was being Nanny. You could see it in her eyes and smile every time one of her grandchildren walked into a room. They were the light and joy in her life and could bring happiness to her even on her worst days.

The family would love to thank all of her Dr's, Nurse's, Social Worker's and anyone who has helped during this long medical journey for her. We appreciate everything you did to get us the extra time we were able to have with her and a big thank you to her homecare workers who were with her almost every day for the last year and a half. Edna Peterson and Marilyn Landry we don't know what we would have done without all of your help. We appreciate you immensely. Thank You.

By Angel's request there will be no visitation. There will be a small get together in her honour at a later date.
