Obituary for Benjamin Alwyn McGarvie

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ben McGarvie who passed away at the Everett Chalmers Hospital after a lengthy illness. Ben was born in Fredericton, grew up and resided in Lower Queensbury and received his education in Nackawic. Ben spent many years in Alberta working as a professional welder and later returned home to further his trade in the surrounding area. Ben was an avid skier and volleyball player in his younger years. He loved to hunt & fish as well. Ben lived every day to the max without hesitation. When Ben was not tinkering around his place, he could be seen running the roads throughout Lower Queensbury, Nackawic, Zealand, Burtt’s Corner and Fredericton.

Ben is survived by his parents: Alwyn (AL) McGarvie & Ann McGarvie (Everett), his sister Andrea (Anner) McGarvie, his uncles, Stephen McGarvie (Agnes) & Richard Everett, his aunts, Pam Breau (Don) & Marsha McGarvie, his cousins Jason Budovitch, Amy Feldman (Budovitch), Tye & Lucas McGarvie and Denny Breau.

Ben was predeceased by his grandparents; Charles & Gwen McGarvie, Ed & Mary Everett, his aunt Carolyn Budovitch and his uncles; Wilfred Everett & Mitchell Budovitch.

The family would like to thank the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff of 4NW at the DECH who treated/cared for Ben during a long battle with his illness.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.

Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Chipman Funeral Home & Crematorium (506-339-6612). Memories and condolences may be shared through www.chipmanfuneralhome.ca.
