It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bertha Annie Wilson announce her passing, at Shannex, Neill Hall Fredericton on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
Bom in Carrolls Crossing. NB on February 3,1930, to the late Theodore and Emma (Arbeau) Lyons. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Bertha (Nan) will live on in the hearts of her son Donald (Wanda) Wilson, Minto, NB and daughter Ruth (Don) Simpson, B.C. Nan’s pride and joy was Granddaughter Jolynn Wilson (Anthony) and grandsons Mark Clark, D. Jody Wilson (Barbara) and Jacob Wilson (Barbara). Great grandchildren Rebekah London (Mike), Brayden London (Chelsea), Karr Wilson, Kirsten Clark, Scarlett Wilson, Matti Pollari, Liam Wilson, and Sadie Wilson, great-great grandchildren Joey, Jack, and Oaklynn.
Bertha is also survived by the Price Girls who adopted her as their Nan, Sisters- in- law, Joyce Briggs and Diana Lyons and many nieces and nephews.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Donald, Daughter Eileen Canney and Son-in- law John Canney, infant son Gary, Granddaughter Jennifer Simpson, two sisters and four brothers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Margaret’s Anglican Church, Forest Hill Road, Fredericton, NB on June 29th, 2023, at 2 pm with Rev. Rob Langmaid officiating. Visitation and luncheon will be held at the church from 12:30 pm to funeral time.
At the families request in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bertha may be made to St. Margaret’s Anglican Church or charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated. Following the service Bertha will be laid to rest beside her husband Don and her daughter Eileen in the St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery, 770 McEvoy Street, Fredericton, NB.
