Obituary for Betty Jean Doherty (Thompson)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Jean Doherty on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Moncton Hospital. Betty was born in Cumberland Bay, NB on February 7, 1947 daughter of the late George and Violet (Lewis) Thompson. Betty is survived by her children, Stanley Wood and Melissa Brown; grandchildren, Serenah Horsman and Morgan Brown; sister-in-law, Sharon Thompson; son-in-law Angus; friend and home care worker, Linda England; nieces and nephews.
Betty was predeceased by her parents; siblings, Donnie and Vincent Thompson.
Family will receive comfort at the Chipman Funeral Home on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held from the Chipman Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be made in the Red Bank United Church Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in memory of Betty made to the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
