Obituary for Blaine Lloyd Darrach

The family of Blaine (Lloyd) Darrach is saddened to announce his passing, at the age of 71. Blaine is survived by his 2 daughters, Jennifer Betts, and Kari (Dwight) Stairs; his 4 grandchildren, Emma Betts, Brooke Stairs, Olivia Betts, and Rowan Stairs; his sisters, Trudy (Peter) Steele, and Barbara (John) Wolfe; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; Lloyd and Marion Darrach.

Blaine was born on May 22, 1951 in Souris, PEI. He would often share many fond memories of growing up on the island, especially the Stanley Bridge area. In 1963 his family moved to NB, and called Devon their home.

Blaine enjoyed being outdoors. In his early years, you’d find him hunting or fishing with friends. He moved to Alberta in the 70’s, where he worked in the trucking industry. This took him all over Canada and the US, but he always made time to visit his girls and family back home in NB.

In the early 90’s, he made Cambridge Narrows, NB his permanent residence. He enjoyed the outdoors and wood working, so naturally, he built his own home near the Washademoak lake. He continued working in the trucking industry.

Living closer to home, enabled Blaine to spend more time with his family; especially his grandchildren, of whom he was very proud. He enjoyed taking them out on his side by side and always looked forward to attending their sporting events.

A private memorial will be held in his honour, at a later date. Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Chipman Funeral Home (339-6612). Memories and condolences may be shared through www.chipmanfuneralhome.ca.
