Obituary for Charles Roger Babin
Charles R. Babin, age 76, passed away at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB on August 12, 2022. Born in Edmunston, NB on January 10, 1946, he was the son of the late Ralph and Simone Babin.
He will be sadly missed by his brother, Don and sisters, Charlotte Roy and Claudette Cooke. He will be forever remembered and missed by his friend, Muriel Ravn.
harles spent the early years of his life in Edmundston, New Brunswick. After graduation, he attended the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, NB where he enrolled in Civil Engineering. Charles later was employed with NB Tel, Bathurst and St John, N. B. He also worked with Eldorado Nuclear, Ottawa, RPC Fredericton, N. B. and UNB, Fredericton, N. B..
Charles had a passion for Astronomy. He spent 20 of his final years, first with the night sky and then went on to discover other aspects of Astronomy. He was able to go back as far as the 1500's and study Astronomers like Kepler, Meeus, Evans, Ptolemy, Hipparchus and Hirshfeld.
Charles studied the Transits, Celestial Navigation, Determination of the eccentricity of the Earth's orbit and much more too numerous to mention..
There will be no visitation or service by request. For those who wish donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
