Obituary for David McBride Pert
David passed away on March 20, 2023. Born in Woodstock, N.B. on October 9, 1943, David moved to Fredericton in 1955 where he lived out his life. He graduated from Fredericton High, Class of 1961. After his graduation he worked for a year as Produce Manager at Sobeys in Newcastle before joining NB Power where he worked for close to 30 years in numerous supervisory positions retiring in 1995.
David is survived by his son Darren (Joanne) Ft. Nelson, BC, daughter Mary Beth (Gordon) Minto NB, his very special granddaughter Maranda Jean, brother, Don (Veeta) Fredericton, sister Margaret (Ron) Oromocto Lake, brother John (Rhoda) Parksville, BC. David is also survived by Clare Muttart, Douglas who became a friend to him, and his brother Sandy, in 1964 and played a major role in straightening out the world’s problems every Friday at their coffee meeting. David was blessed to be a part of Team Geritol, made up of a group of life long friends who had a life time of fabulous adventures fishing, hunting, canoeing, and snowmobiling along branches of the Miramichi River, Restigouche River, Dungarvon River, and the Renous River.
At David’s request there will be no visitation. A private graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery will be conducted at a later date. The family asks in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Diabetic Association of Canada.
