Obituary for Dianne Eva Roberts (Cusack)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dianne Eva Roberts, 76 of Shannex Neill Hall, Fredericton, formerly of Chipman, on Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital surrounded by family.

She was born in Minto, NB on January 13, 1947, raised by her step father the late Elmer Lemon (Dad) and the late Elsie Lemon. Her birth father was Otty Cusack. Dianne attended High School in Chipman to later attended Moncton Technical School graduating from hairdressing school. For many years she had a salon in her home and after that she took her talent to the Mill Cove Nursing home.

Dianne is survived by her former husband Robert Murray, Sydney, NS and their two sons, Glendon (Shelly) Murray, Stillwater Lake, NS and Ryan (Kim) Murray, Geary, NB. She was predeceased by the love of her life, the late George Roberts. She is also survived by her siblings Shona (Leonard) Stilwell, Salmon River; Rodney (Carolyn) Lemon, Chipman, NB; Arlene (Denver) Bramble, Maugerville, NB and Royce Lemon, Chipman, NB; step- siblings Wayne Cusack (deceased); Donnie Cusack; Billy (Janice) Cusack; Nancy Cusack (Heather) and Glen Cusack. Five grandchildren Cassandra Myers (deceased); Tia Myers, Prince George, BC; Alisha Murray (Kyle), Moncton, NB; Finn Perrin, Geary, NB and Katherine Murray, Chipman, NB. A great-granddaughter, Diana Reimer, Prince George, BC. Several nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Dianne was very active in the community and within The Chipman United Church, including the choir, CGIT and teaching Sunday School. She was also involved with Kinettes. She loved baking, making sure to deliver her baked goods to many of the elderly in the community. She also enjoyed quilting and anything to do with animals. It’s been said that the wildlife in Chipman were among the best fed! Spending time with her family, especially on Boxing Day brought her the most joy!

The family would like to thank all the staff at Shannex Neill Hall, the EMT’s, the medical professionals at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, especially Dr. Barnhill, RN Francois and LPN Jamie for going above and beyond towards Dianne’s care.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 1-4 pm at the Chipman Funeral Home. There will be a private family graveside service at the Redbank United Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Dianne’s memory to Diabetes Canada or Alzheimers Society of New Brunswick.
