It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Gosselin announce his passing on June 8, 2023 at Albert House Hospice in Moncton at the age of 88. Don was born April 14, 1935 in Moncton to Willie and Tilda (Boudreau) Gosselin.
Don served in the Army with the 22nd Regiment. He trained in Quebec and then from 1953-1955 in Germany. In his younger years Don loved boxing & did a lot of it while in the Army. Don married his beloved Denise in Montreal on April 8, 1961, and they had 4 wonderful children. As a family they loved camping, playing tennis, and skiing. Don played hockey in St. Eustache, Quebec, and became a hockey coach for kids. In the summers, he coached softball leagues for women and kids. In 1973, the Gosselin family moved back to Moncton. Don worked installing windows & doors and later installed siding. Don & Denise loved traveling to Mission, Texas, and did so for 16 years in the winter months. No one loved music more than Donald Gosselin and could he ever sing and play his guitar and his harmonicas. Don’s greatest love was for his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and his church family. He sure will be missed by all who knew him!
Forever treasuring Don’s memory are his wife of 62 years, Denise, and their children, Daniel Gosselin (Krista) of Salisbury, Mireille Swim (Roy) of McAdam, Jocelyn Gosselin (Patsy) of Steeves Mountain and Cindy Gosselin (Peter Bauer) of Moncton. Don loved his grandchildren Marcia Holmes (Andrew), Justin Gosselin (Meghan Tripp), Shaylyn Leavitt (Bradley), Kalista Smith (Kyle), Kade and Kody O’Brien. Don’s great grandchildren also held a special place in his heart: Ethan, Isaac & Joshua Holmes, Marcus O’Brien, Jocelyn Jeffrey Gosselin & Ember Tripp. Don was also blessed with 50 nieces and nephews.
Don is survived by 4 sisters: Aurore Savoie, Esther Beaman, Yolande Bourdeau (Don), Chantal Gosselin and 3 brothers: Pius Gosselin, Jean Gosselin, Paul Gosselin, and 1 brother-in-law Rheal Chamberlain.
