Obituary for Edgar "Ted" Richard Allingham

Edgar Allingham (Ted), beloved father, grandparent, brother, and friend unexpectedly passed away on April 7, 2023, at the age of 67. He is survived by his adored daughter Marci (Charles) Spencer; granddaughter Mia; sister Vicki (Glen); brothers, Ned (Carla), Mac and Bill. Ted was predeceased by his brother Doug.

Ted was born to parents, William and Adelaide Allingham (Mowat) on October 10, 1955 in Campbellton, New Brunswick. He graduated from Oromocto High School in 1974 and later worked towards his certified general accountant designation. After returning to the Maritimes from Ontario, he spent his career helping others where he could, working for two non-profit organizations, the Fredericton Community Shelter and the New Brunswick Lung Association.

Ted was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed camping, wildlife, walking through the bush or sitting in a duck blind. He had a love for learning and was well read on topics including history, philosophy, politics, and religion. Most notably, Ted had a generous personality and the ability to reach out and connect with others in need.

In lieu of funeral services, the family invites friends to privately celebrate Ted’s memory in your own ways, take a trip down the majestic Saint John River, or by making a donation in his honour to the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Chipman Funeral Home & Crematorium (506) 339-6612. Memories and condolences may be shared through www.chipmanfuneralhome.ca.
