Obituary for Faye Ruth Jeffery (Starkey)
It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Faye Jeffery, wife of the late Peter Jeffery announces the sudden passing of our mother which occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Faye was born in Fredericton, NB on January 5, 1943 to the late Leland and Ruth (Blakney) Starkey.
Faye worked as a secretary at Coles Island and Chipman Elementary Schools for many years and as a bus driver before her stroke in 2000. She faced many challenges but overcame them with lots of hard work, determination and always with a smile on her face.
Lovingly remembered by her children, Wanda (Tim Wilkins) of Killarney Road, Wayne (Vanessa) of Maugerville, Michelle (Colin Layfield) of Malta and her granddaughter Shana Betts of Killarney Road. She also had a special place in her heart for Alex Betts and Kali Betts, and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Peter and brother, Paul Starkey.
There will be no visitation as per Faye's wishes. A celebration of Faye's life will be held at the Grace Memorial Baptist Church (536 Northumberland St, Fredericton) on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 2:00 pm. A reception will be held following the service to visit with the family. Interment will be made in the All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery, Bagdad, NB.
