Obituary for Harold William Fraser

Harold William Fraser of Chipman, NB passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, January 8, 2023. He was 84 years old. Harold was born in Chipman on May 3, 1938. He was the son of the late Calvin and Margaret (Glenn) Fraser. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by his sisters Vera (Ora) Murray, Helen (Alvin) Brown and Roxie (Johnny) Robinson and brothers Vincent (Rotha) Fraser, Girvin (Della) Fraser, Donald (Bessie) Fraser and Hugh Fraser.

Harold is survived by his wife of 52 years, May (Moore) Fraser, his two sons: Kim Fraser (Mariette Cleveland) of Hardwood Ridge and Jeffrey Fraser (Bonnie) of Chipman; his daughter, Jennifer Legere (Thomas) of Minto; his granddaughters: Megan Fraser (Gerald Sharkey) of Oromocto, Kayla Fraser (Aaron Bonnell) of Hardwood Ridge; his grandson, Keenan Fraser (Michelle Black) of Hardwood Ridge; his great-granddaughter, Lilly; many nephews, nieces and friends.

Harold was a quiet and gentle man who worked hard and was kind to his family and friends. He started his career working in the woods with horses, and later began work at Grand Lake Timber as a loader operator until his retirement at the age of 65. Not one to be idle, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, going to the camp, working in his garage, taking May for long drives, and helping others in any way he could.

Keeping with Harold’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in the Red Bank Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
