Obituary for Irene Mary Gillcash (Boudreau)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Irene Mary (Boudreau) Gillcash, age 81 of Minto, NB on Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Irene was born in Minto, NB on March 29, 1941 daughter of the late Emily (LeBritton) Powers and Blair Boudreau, raised by Alison Powers.
Survived by her loving husband Brian Gillcash; daughters, Sherri Cormier and Lisa (Willard) Thompson. One of the biggest joys in Irene’s life were her grandchildren, Kyle Cormier, Alicia Black, Jelena Atwin and great-grandchilden, Landen Cormier, Colton Cormier and Simon Cormier. She also has three step-daughters that she thought a lot of, Ann (Herb) Walters, Corena (Mark) Walby, Becky Gillcash as well as grandchildren, Jessica Walters and Ryan Walters.
Irene always loved spending time with her sisters, Ruth Colwell, Shirley Paul, Barb (Phillip) Atwin and honorary sister Irene West. I am sure that Irene will have a table set up with bingo cards and daubers just waiting for her bingo buddies to show up.
Irene also has several nieces, nephews and cousins that she thought the world of. A special thanks goes out to her nephew Darren Colwell and his wife Theresa for always stopping by almost every week to visit and have some good food and a lot of laughs. Irene will always think of Darrell Boudreau as a son and not her nephew.
In addition to her parents Emily and Alison Powers, Irene was predeceased by her son-in-law Wayne Cormier; brothers-in-law Doug Colwell and Clarene Van Buren; sister-in-law Mearl Boudreau.
A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Irene made to the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
