Johanne nous a quitté paisiblement à son domicile la matinée de Noël. Elle tenait dans sa main celle des deux grands amours de sa vie, son mari Brian, avec qui elle a exploré le monde pendant les 49 1/2 dernières années, ainsi que de sa fille tant aimée, Jennifer. Ses derniers jours fûrent vécus sereinement dans le confort du foyer qu'elle a créé pour sa famille, qu'elle a chérie et adorée tout au long de sa vie.
Johanne était une personne d'une bonté et d'une beauté radieuse, entièrement dévouée pour les siens. Dotée d'une force de caractère exceptionnelle et de compassion, elle était adorée de tous les gens qui la côtoyait.

Un remerciement particulier à l'équipe de l’hôpital régional Dr. Everett Chalmers qui a su prodiguer des soins palliatifs de qualité, afin d'apporter support à Johanne et à sa famille. Ceux ci sont également très reconnaissant envers Super Nurse Janet, Amazing Kim, infirmière de liaison du Programme extra-mural, au Dr David Vaillancourt ( Père-Noël) ainsi que Dr Jennifer Gillis-Doyle pour avoir promu une fin de vie de qualité pour Johanne.

Merci spécial pour l'équipe du programme extra-mural pour son empathie, les infirmières et Dr Gordon MacDonald pour avoir respecté la dignité en accompagnant Johanne et sa famille tout au long de cette épreuve. Johanne passed peacefully at home Christmas morning, holding the hands of her two great loves – her husband Brian and her daughter Jennifer. Her last days were spent in her serene, comforting home that she created for her family. A family she cherished and a husband she adored. A husband that she explored the world with for 49 1/2 years. An exceptionally beautiful person that loved her family, she radiated strength and compassion, and was loved by all who knew her.

Special thanks to the team at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital that provided supportive patient-family palliative care. Johanne and family are grateful to Super Nurse Janet, Amazing Kim the Extra-Mural Liaison Nurse, Dr. David Vaillancourt (Santa Claus) and Dr. Jennifer Gillis-Doyle for promoting Johanne’s quality of life in her end-of-life care.

Special thanks to the empathetic Extra-Mural Nurses and Dr. Gordon MacDonald that respected her dignity and accompanied Johanne and family in her journey; Teresa, Sherry, Patrice, Laura, and Heather – we are grateful for your kindness.
