We regret to announce the passing of Joseph "Dozie" Babineau of Minto, NB on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton, NB. A veteran of the Korean war, he was a Canadian forces medic and he served in many places. Following his career with the CF, he was a security officer at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for many years. Once retired, he relocated to Minto with his beloved late wife Elizabeth, who remained his true love on earth and in heaven.

He was predeceased by his wife Betty, parents Henry and Philomena (Thibodeau) Babineau; sister Millie and brother Gerald.

He is survived by his brother Junior Babineau; daughter Debbie MacPherson (Donnie); son Brian Babineau (Georgina); grandchildren Melissa Randall (Steven), Mitchelle Babineau (Yuka), Adam Babineau, Faye McNew (Lance), Megan Chatterton (Alex) and Greg Babineau (Christina); great-grandchildren, Lauryn and Wyatt; as well as eight other great-grandchildren. He was deeply attached to George the shi-tzu. In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joseph can be made to any animal charity of choice.

There will be no funeral or visitation. Joseph's family wish to thank all the staff of the DVA in Fredericton for their care over the 4 years of his residency there.
