Obituary for Mary E. J. Danaher

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth Jerusha Danaher announce her peaceful passing at Bobby's Hospice on Friday, November 25, 2022. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on August 4, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Minnie (Boone) Carpenter.

From an early age Mary was a hard worker and an independent soul. She worked through her life as a waitress and award-winning Avon representative. The most rewarding job for her though, was the role of mother to her four children. She made a beautiful home for her family in both Saint John and Hampton. Her home was always a welcome spot for her friends and family, and most importantly for her children and their friends. An avid crafter, Mary could do almost anything but took immense pride in her sewing skills making handmade clothing for her children, dolls and eventually quilts. If you knew Mary, you knew her love for shopping in the United States. There was a time in the mid-1990s that the St. Stephen custom officers knew her by name.

Mary is Survived by her four children and their families, Patty Hoyt and her husband Stephen and their children Jerusha Robichaud (Andrew Forgie) and Meredith Hoyt all of Rothesay; Peter Danaher and his partner Rosie and her daughter Marphy of Hampton; Paige Danaher and partner Glenn Round and his daughter Chloe of Saint John; Paula Danaher and her children Kylie (Theia and Freja) and Silas of Saint John.  Siblings Pat Carpenter of Vancouver; Roberta Whitcomb (Richard), Mary Ellen Carpenter and Kelly (Cathy Ann) Carpenter of Saint John. Mary is survived by many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Along with her parents Mary is predeceased by brothers, David and Ralphie Carpenter.

At Mary's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment will take place in Saint John at a later date.

Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Chipman Funeral Home Ltd. & Crematorium. (339-6612) Memories and condolences may be shared through www.chipmanfuneralhome.ca.
