Obituary for Michael "Mike" Douglas Kingston

With sadness the family of Michael (Mike) Douglas Kingston announce his passing after a brief illness, on March 16, 2023. Born January 30, 1964, Mike was the son of Doug and Mary (Harrity) Kingston of Gondola Point and for the past 30 years, has been a familiar face amongst the residents of Darlings Island.

Mike was a proud and sincere father and grandfather who loved his family with his whole heart. He lived his life unapologetically and was known for doing things in his own unique way. Not one to sit around, or be in silence, Mike loved listening to music as well as talking to and meeting people. He could make friends anywhere and at any time. He was a proud craftsman who enjoyed sharing his woodworking talents with family, friends and neighbours and in recent years, his grandchildren. As an anti-Montreal fan, Mike bravely married into the Theriault family and enjoyed the friendly rivalry that ensued. Humour was important to Mike, and he enjoyed playing tricks on his nieces, nephews and neighbours.

Mike is survived by his dedicated wife Michelle (Theriault) and his sons Matthew (Alicia) and Christopher (Zoƫ) as well as his grandchildren Quinn, Vincent, and Tate. He is also survived by his brothers David, Dan (Jianrong) and Harold (Juanita) many nieces and nephews and several Theriault in-laws, as well as his animals Nova and Luna whom he loved deeply. Mike is predeceased by his parents, Doug and Mary, his sister Lorraine, his sister-in-law Kathy, parents in law John and Rita Theriault and brothers in law George, Dennis and Bill Theriault.

Donations in memory of Mike may be made to a charity of your choice.
