Obituary for Ralph William Harding

The strength of our family “the man, the myth, the legend” passed away on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023. A wonderful Dad, Grampy, Great Grampy, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.

Survived by his children whom he was always so proud of…as we were equally proud and so lucky to have him for our Dad: Graeme (Roddie), Cheryl (Denis) & Scott (Angela); CHERISHED grandchildren: Katie Thomas (Jon), Kelly Pryor (Robert), Mitchel Cormier (Kirstyn), Tyler Harding (Haley), Casey Harding, Hunter Harding. ADORED great-grandchildren: Easton, Drew, Kara, Kyle, Khloe, Emerson and Axel, who lit up his face and his life. Two special and devoted siblings; Philip Harding (Irma) and Ann Parent (Don); sister-in-law Margaret Wilkins and brother-in-law Robert Wilkins (Georgie).

Predeceased by the love of his life (Marilyn Harding, he did his best to be happy, but didn’t love life without her in it); his parents Ralph Sr. and Mabel Harding; daughter-in-law Tina Harding & many sisters and brothers-in-law and friends.

A very caring, sensitive family man who guided us with advice and encouragement to his last day. Some would say Dad was “a man of few words” but we realized the past two years that Mum was right when she always said, “Maybe he doesn’t get a chance”. When he spoke, we all listened to his wise and meaningful words. He laughed easily and was well known for his hearty laugh. Thanks for the memories, Dad – we miss you so much already!

Remembrances can be made to the Lung Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

At Dad’s request, there will be no funeral or visitation. A private family burial will be held.
