It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Gionet announces his passing at the Sussex Health Center on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the age of 77 years. Roger was born in Caraquet, NB on July 15, 1945 son of the late Leonard and Anna (Albert) Gionet.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Leona, his daughter Monique (Troy), granddaughter Danielle (Ryan), brothers Reg (Carol), and Lionel (Diane). Roger will also be missed by many brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Roger worked in the Mining industry his entire adult life, relocating across Canada before settling in Sussex, NB where he built his family home. Roger was kind hearted, hard working, and a man of few words but quick to crack a joke. He was known as a handyman ready to lend a helping hand, "Daddy fix" as his daughter would always say.

Roger had several interests that he pursued throughout his life. His passions included his fish pond that he built on the side of a mountain. He loved and had an extensive woodworking shop where he spent many hours creating and inventing. In the past few years Roger loved playing shuffleboard with his Wife.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church, 112 Church Avenue, Sussex, New Brunswick on April 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Donations in memory of Roger can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
