Obituary for Roger William Savoy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roger William Savoy of Sussex Corner, NB on Friday, August 4, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 72. Roger was born in Black’s Harbour, NB on December 31, 1950 the son of the late Peter and Susan (St. Coeur) Savoy.

Roger will live on in the hearts of his wife and best friend, Lynn; daughters, Sherry (Terry) Wagner, Tammy (John) Lagacy; sister Agnes (Clayton) McVicar; grandchildren, Donavan, Lyla, Nate, Emma, Ashley, Ethan, Parker, Rowan and Asher; step-children Gary (Julie) Morehouse, Dana (Tina) Morehouse and Erin (Mark) Kislingbury; sister-in-laws, Terry, Anita, Sherry, Isabelle and Dianne; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Roger was a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic by trade,working at Conner Brothers, Irving sawmills in both Penfield and Sussex and Saint John Shipbuilding on the frigate program.

He loved to fish and hunt played darts, golf, and participated in many chess competitions.

Predeceased by his parents Peter and Susan; sister Muriel Comeau; brothers, Raymond, Louie, Romeo, Gilbert, Alec, Eugene, Michael and Peter.

There will be no visitation or funeral. A
graveside service will be held at Stella Maris (172 Wallace Cove Road) Blacks Harbour, NB on August 19, 2023 at 11:30 am.

The family would like to thank the wonderful team on the CAM unit at Saint Joseph’s Hospital for the care they provided, not just to Roger, but to his family as well, love and respect you all.

Donations to the in memory of Roger made to the heart and stroke foundation or charity of choice is appreciated by the his family.
