Obituary for Ronald Alvin Wood
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ronald Alvin Wood of Minto NB announce his death at the Chalmers Regional Hospital on February 8, 2023 at the age of 78. Ron passed away peacefully surrounded with love by his wife and children who he adored more than anything else in the world.
Ron was born in North Minto, NB on October 11, 1944, he was the son of the late George and Hazel Wood who taught him how important family was. He left us with the best example of a loving brother, devoted husband and the best father and he will forever be missed deeply by many.
Before he retired, he worked for many years as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Dept. of Natural Resources at the Minto Fish Hatchery. He will be remembered as being very handy and could often be found working in his garage either fixing a car or building something. He had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows every year with his best friend and son Greg.
Left to deeply mourn are his loving wife of 54 years Louise (White) Wood, daughter Margaret Robertson (Scott) and son Greg Wood. Ron is also survived by brother Wayne (Nancy) Wood and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by infant son Danny, brothers Maurice and Donnie Wood, and In-Laws Louis and Marguerite White.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hennessey, Dr. Schaus , Dr. Ginn and all the wonderful nurses on 4SW at the DECH that took such good care of him. Also Dr. Haynes of Minto for many years of care.
In keeping with Ron’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be announced by his family at a later date. For those who wish, donations made to the Wallbridge Cemetery Committee would be appreciated.
