Obituary for Sterling Vance Clark

It is with heavy hearts the family of Sterling Vance Clark of Chipman announce his death at Hospice House Fredericton on December 28, 2022 at the age of 75. Born in Chipman he was the son of the late Charles and Lillian (Estey) Clark. The last member of his immediate family he was predeceased by two sisters, Pearl Dunham and Frances “Honey” Clark and by four brothers, Russell, Sonny, Raye and Wynn.

He is survived by the love of his life, Trina McCavour; one daughter, Carmen Clark (Blake); two sons, Ryan Lamey (Neil) and Brad Lamey (Darlene); grandchildren. Kale (Lamey McArthur), Rowan Lamey, Katrina (Sheldon) and Lynn (Kyle) and great-grandson, Blake; step-sons, Michael (Amy), Justin (Robin) and grandchildren, Dominic, Gracie and Remedy; brothers by choice, Dan Dunham, Keith West, Robert Clark and chosen son, Jeff Hay, several nieces and nephews.

Sterling retired from the Department of Natural Resources in 2014 after 27 years of service. He enjoyed being a Hunters Education Instructor. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing and anything else related to nature. The woods were his place of comfort and peace. He also kept bees for years and sold honey locally. He was a founding member of the Fish and Game Club (Treasurer) and the Chipman Bowlarama. He was also an Auxiliary RCMP member for 10 years. He had a keen interest in all things Aboriginal.

At his request there will be no visitation or service. For those who wish, donations to Hospice House, 621 Churchill Row, Fredericton NB E3B 1B5 or a local animal shelter would be appreciated by the family.
