Obituary for Vivian Berneta McLean (Darrah)

Vivian Berneta (Darrah) McLean of Upper Salmon Creek, NB passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 91 years of age. Vivian was born in Minto, NB on April 13, 1930 daughter of the late Borden and Myrtle (Best) Darrah.

Vivian will be sadly missed by her children, Brenda Hogan and Treva (Ralph) McLean, Sheldon (NaVee), Rodney (Kelly), Randal (Laurie) and Corey (Susan); grandchildren Andrea, Jeremy, Melissa and Rylee; great-grandchildren Myah, Addison, Corbin and Jovi; several nieces and nephews.

Vivian lived and raised her family in Chipman and was very contented to do so. Her family was her main focus in life; as well as, her spiritual church family. When anyone needed a helping hand, she was always willing and happy to offer help in any way she could. One always knew they were in her prayers. Vivian was a wonderful cook as everyone can attest to who has enjoyed her many cakes, pies, rolls, doughnuts and trays of Christmas baking over the years – especially those lemon tarts. Her knitting was admired by all --- socks, mittens, hat and scarves, baby sets, Christmas stockings, etc. So many of her friends and family members were happy recipients of these items over the years.

Predeceased by her first husband Murray Hopkins and her second husband Weldon McLean; infant son Lowell; siblings Lloyd and Freda Barton; sons-in-law, Otis Knox and Bernie Hogan.

A celebration of Vivian’s life will be held at the Christian Life Center on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 2:30 PM with visitation prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. Interment will be made in the Red Bank United Church Cemetery on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Christian Life Centre or the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
