Obituary for Wendy Lou Trites-Legassie

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wendy Trites-Legassie at the Moncton Hospital on December 17, 2021, after a lengthy illness at the age of 58. Wendy was born in Moncton, NB on January 16, 1963 the daughter of Juanita and the late Curtis Trites. Wendy is survived by her husband Glen and sons Sean (Amanda) and Nathan (Emily); brother Ian (Marilyn) Trites; sister Roxanne (John) Bernard as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wendy retired after teaching for over 25 years at Kapuskasing District High School in Kapuskasing, Northern Ontario and moved back to New Brunswick to their home on the banks of the Salmon River. Wendy enjoyed large family gatherings and socializing with her many groups of friends. She always had a smile and a willingness to help wherever needed. Wendy especially enjoyed her time with the Kapuskasing Stitch group and with her weekly quilting group at the Joy Club in Chipman. She had a love for quilting and weaving and was always willing to visit a quilt shop. She loved her home on the Salmon River and would often comment that she could spend hours just watching the river flow by.

Wendy’s family will receive comfort at the Chipman Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Wendy’s life will be held from the Second Chipman United Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00 am. A private family interment will take place at the Second Chipman United Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Wendy made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Second Chipman United Baptist Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
